If you have stubborn fat that you would like to get rid of, CoolSculpting and SculpSure are two effective fat reduction treatment options. They are both excellent body contouring procedures that can get rid of fat that is resistant to diet and exercise.
What is the difference between CoolSculpting and SculpSure?
Although CoolSculpting and SculpSure both target diet resistant fat, they don’t work the same way.
How CoolSculpting works
CoolSculpting is a fat freezing procedure that uses a process known as cryolipolysis to target isolated pockets of fat. The intense cold causes the fat cells to crystallize and die, and they are subsequently removed by the body over the following months.
How SculpSure works
SculpSure uses heat to destroy unwanted fat cells. The laser panels heat the fat cells below the skin to a temperature that causes cell damage. The damaged fat cells are then expelled through the body’s lymphatic system.
SculpSure uses multiple applicators that can treat several areas in a single session. In contrast, CoolSculpting has one applicator, so each area has to be treated separately.
Treatment areas
CoolSculpting is FDA approved for the following areas – abdomen, flanks, back fat, bra fat, thighs, upper arms, below the chin, and the banana roll (area beneath the buttocks). SculpSure is FDA approved for treating the abdomen and flanks, but is used ‘off-label’ for treating the outer thighs, arms, buttocks, and back.
Treatment time
SculpSure takes approximately 25 minutes, whereas CoolSculpting can take up to one hour to complete.
Results
SculpSure reduces fat cells by approximately 24% compared to 22% with CoolSculpting.
