When it comes to non-invasive body contouring procedures, CoolSculpting is the top choice. CoolSculpting is a fat reduction solution that uses cold temperatures to contour the body, so it’s not surprising that people considering treatment often want to know if CoolSculpting will be unbearably cold.
How CoolSculpting works
CoolSculpting uses controlled cooling technology known as cryolipolysis, to reduce unwanted fat bulges that are resistant to diet and exercise. The CoolSculpting system emits cold temperature that selectively targets and freezes the fat cells. The fat cells soon die and are flushed from the body in the weeks following treatment. CoolSculpting reduces fat in the treated area by approximately 20-25%.
Will CoolSculpting be unbearably cold?
Clients normally feel some discomfort during the first few minutes of the CoolSculpting procedure, because the treatment area will become very cold, but it is not unbearable. The targeted area will get cold at the start of the procedure, and there may also be tingling or burning sensations. However, the area will become completely numb from the extreme cold after about 10 minutes, so clients won’t feel anything for the rest of the treatment. CoolSculpting usually takes about 1 hour.
A post-treatment massage is performed immediately after CoolSculpting, to help break down the fat cells. Results can be seen 1-3 months after treatment.
What body areas can CoolSculpting treat?
CoolSculpting can be used to treat the thighs, abdomen, flanks, beneath the buttocks (banana roll), below the chin (submental area), upper arms, back fat, and bra fat.
