How can I reduce excess upper arm fat?

Are you having a hard time getting rid of excess upper arm fat?  If the fat on the underside of your arms is preventing you from wearing clothing that bares your arms, you may have asked the question – How can I reduce excess upper arm fat.

How can I reduce excess upper arm fat?

Extra fat in the upper arm is most often due to genetics, but it can also be the result of aging and weight loss.  Whatever the reason, you can reduce excess upper arm fat with an arm lift.

An arm lift or brachioplasty removes excess fat in the upper arms and tightens loose, sagging skin, giving the upper arms tone and definition.  Defining the arms can improve the look of the entire upper body, and make you feel stronger.

Arm lift surgery

Arm lift surgery is an in-office procedure that can be performed under IV sedation, or general anesthesia.  The incision for an arm lift is made on the inside of the arm, extending from the armpit to the elbow.  The length of the incision depends on the amount and location of the fat and skin that must be removed (learn more).

Recovery after arm lift surgery?

After surgery there is usually some bruising and swelling at the incision site.  Patients are required to wear a compression garment for at least 3 weeks, to help minimize swelling.  Most patients need to take at least 1 week off work for recovery.
