Are you interested in trying CoolSculpting for reducing stubborn fat bulges, but you are concerned it may hurt? You’re not alone. One of the questions most frequently asked about the procedure is – Does CoolSculpting hurt.
How CoolSculpting works
CoolSculpting is a non-surgical fat reduction treatment that uses science known as cryolipolysis to freeze away unwanted fat. The cold energy selectively targets and destroys the fat cells, without harming the surrounding skin, muscle, and nerves. The treated fat cells are eventually flushed from the body, and this process can continue for up to 6 months.
When will I see results after CoolSculpting?
Some patients see changes as quickly as 3 weeks after treatment, but optimal results can take up to 2 months.
Does CoolSculpting Hurt?
Patients may feel some discomfort for the first few minutes of the CoolSculpting treatment, but it really does not hurt.
At the start of the procedure patients will feel intense cold until the system reaches the desired temperature. Patients may also experience pulling and tugging sensations after the cooling panel is applied to the skin. These sensations will last for about 5-10 minutes until the treatment area becomes completely numb.
Most patients are able to relax during CoolSculpting treatment. Many of them work on their phone, answer emails, read, or take a nap.
